These Terms of Service outline how Northern Star Support Services delivers supports and what participants can expect when engaging with our services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to these terms.
Our services are delivered in accordance with the NDIS Practice Standards, relevant legislation, and participant service agreements.
Our Services
Northern Star Support Services provides NDIS-funded disability supports, which may include:
- Support Coordination and NDIS Navigation
- Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports
- Community Access and Social Participation
- Daily Living and Personal Supports
- Capacity-building and allied health support (non-clinical)
- Respite and short-term accommodation support (navigation and support only)
The specific supports you receive will be outlined in your individual Service Agreement.
Service Agreements
Before services commence, a Service Agreement will be developed with you or your nominated representative. This agreement outlines:
- The supports to be provided
- Pricing and funding arrangements
- Scheduling and delivery of services
- Roles and responsibilities
- Cancellation and notice requirements
Service Agreements may be reviewed and updated as your needs change.
Participant Rights and Responsibilities
You have the right to:
- Be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness
- Exercise choice and control over your supports
- Receive services that align with your NDIS plan
- Provide feedback or make complaints without fear of retribution
Participants are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and relevant information
- Treating staff respectfully
- Communicating changes to needs or circumstances
- Complying with agreed service arrangements
Changes, Cancellations, and Absences
If you need to cancel or change a scheduled service, we ask that you provide notice in line with your Service Agreement. Short-notice cancellations may be charged in accordance with NDIS Pricing Arrangements.
Details of cancellation periods and charges will be clearly outlined in your Service Agreement.
Safety and Duty of Care
Northern Star Support Services has a duty of care to participants, staff, and the community. We may take reasonable steps to ensure safety, including adjusting or suspending services if there is a serious risk to wellbeing.
Privacy and Confidentiality
We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, the Privacy Act 1988, and NDIS requirements.
Information is shared only when necessary for service delivery, safety, or legal compliance.
Complaints and Disputes
If you have concerns about our services, we encourage you to raise them with us directly. Complaints are managed in line with our Complaints & Feedback process.
You may also contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission if required.
Limitation of Liability
Northern Star Support Services will take reasonable care in delivering supports. However, we are not liable for outcomes beyond our reasonable control or for services provided by third parties.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms of Service may be updated from time to time. The most current version will be available on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
